First, decide what you mean by bug

Take the whole-animal photo first

Then compare the proposed species. Check range, season, habitat, host, size, markings, and similar species. Use several independent features. One matching color is weak evidence because many unrelated animals share colors.

Treat confidence as model information

The better prompt provides scale, location, host, date, anatomy, and behavior. It also requests alternatives and missing evidence. These details help the service avoid an absolute answer.

Keep observation and interpretation separate. “The leaf has five round holes” is an observation. “This insect ate the leaf” is an interpretation. Share both, but label them correctly.
