Belvoir Editorial Policy — Sources, Reviews and Corrections

How we keep plant-identification guidance and application comparisons useful, current, and bounded by evidence.

Last Version2026.08.31

Policy summary

  • We state product access, platform, and safety limits in plain language.
  • We prefer official product pages, primary research, public agencies, and university extension sources.
  • We disclose that ByGaze makes Belvoir on comparison and best-application pages.
  • We do not publish invented ratings, reviews, prices, accuracy tests, credentials, or user experiences.
  • We provide a correction channel and show review or update dates on time-sensitive content.

Purpose and audience

The Belvoir Editorial Team publishes product education for plant owners, beginner gardeners, and nature-curious Android users. Content explains how to take a useful plant photo, interpret a likely match, understand confidence information, ask better care questions, and compare available plant applications.

Our goal is not to make a plant-identification result sound certain. The goal is to help readers understand what a tool can support, what evidence is missing, and when a qualified local source should take over.

Source hierarchy

  1. Official sources: product listings, product documentation, public agencies, and policy pages.
  2. Primary expert sources: research papers, herbaria, botanical institutions, and university extension services.
  3. Established reporting: dated reporting that names its method, author, and evidence.
  4. Community evidence: reviews or discussions used only as labeled anecdotes, not universal facts.

Every current blog guide includes named sources. Comparison records include official source links and a checked date. A source link does not make every statement on that source correct, so we keep claims close to the specific evidence they support.

Belvoir product facts

The approved product title is Belvoir: AI Plant Companion. The application package is com.belvoir.app, and the current public product is for Android. Website copy describes limited free access and optional paid plans. It does not describe Belvoir as completely free, guaranteed accurate, professionally diagnostic, on-device, or available on iPhone.

The live Google Play listing and purchase screen control current availability, access limits, plan features, prices, renewal terms, and regional differences. We update website copy when verified product facts change.

Application comparisons

ByGaze makes Belvoir. Our comparison pages are therefore disclosed product comparisons, not independent laboratory rankings. We compare public features, platforms, access models, and use cases from official sources. We do not infer features that a source does not describe.

Each comparison states when its sources were checked. Product features and prices can change by country, device, version, or plan. Readers should verify both live listings before a purchase. A competitor can request a correction or removal review through the contact channel below.

Plant and safety guidance

A photo-based identification or health check can organize possibilities. It cannot prove toxicity, edibility, medicinal use, pet safety, pesticide choice, invasive status, or a professional diagnosis. We include clear boundaries when content touches those decisions.

Readers should use a qualified botanist, horticulturist, extension service, poison service, veterinarian, crop adviser, or other appropriate local authority when an incorrect decision can cause harm.

AI-assisted research and editing

We may use automated tools to help collect public evidence, organize a draft, check consistency, or identify missing topics. Automation does not create a source. Material facts still need repository evidence or a named external source, and unsupported claims are removed before publication.

The website test suite blocks several unsupported commercial claims. It also checks comparison source links, checked dates, unique titles, minimum content depth, and approved product naming.

Updates and corrections

Time-sensitive pages show a review or update date. We change an update date only after a substantive source, claim, structure, or product-fact review. We preserve the original publication date on articles.

Send a correction with the page URL, disputed text, and supporting source to support.belvoir@bygaze.com. We review product, comparison, safety, privacy, and legal corrections against the strongest available evidence.
